Vacancy: Stakeholder Manager – Offshore Wind

The Stakeholder Manager is responsible for leading the stakeholder engagement for Offshore Wind Projects pipeline in the Philippines. The individual will build strong and positive local relationships across various key stakeholder groups in the country, acting as the key leader in external engagement. The role will report to the Country Manager and will be working within a highly experienced project development team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with opportunities for continued learning and personal development.
Main accountabilities:
Oversee and manage stakeholder related workstreams, ensuring successful project delivery to the prescribed budget and timeline.
Responsible for creating and implementation of the Philippines stakeholder engagement strategy, with the support of the Corporate Market development team (Stakeholder Engagement, Communications, Government Affairs,…) located in Europe.
Overseeing a stakeholders register database (software used Simply Stakeholder) including identification of key influencers and ambassadors and documenting stakeholder interactions as required.
Manage a team of local stakeholder liaison officers (located in the four regions where the company develops its projects: Claveria, Mariveles, Calatagan and Bulalacao) and external consultants.
Engagement with and acting as the key contact point with key stakeholders within the Philippines, with the support of local liaison officers.
Identify opportunities for positive engagement initiatives and partnerships with local communities and stakeholders.
Identify the potential for, and coordinate the preparation, execution and presentation of stakeholder engagement initiatives and public consultation events.
Work with the external communications agency ensuring that the communication including project websites, email box responses, social media, events, etc. are in line with stakeholders’ strategy and key messages.
Attending industry, stakeholder and community meetings as key representative to present project information
Co-lead with the technical team, the initial scoping of supply chain opportunities within the country
Collaborate with educational institutions to determine and assess key workforce skills gaps, training and skills development opportunities for supporting an offshore wind industry in the country.
Drive partnerships with regional businesses in support of building a regional economic development plan for offshore wind in the country.
Communication:
Ensure transparent and efficient communication of targets, deadlines, responsibilities, issues and risks within the wider team.
Maintain effective communication with all external stakeholders and the project team and prepare and present reports to senior management.
Report project progress, risks and relevant issues within the team and to internal stakeholders
Effectively engage with key global project management teams to ensure that other teams have the appropriate information and manage internal approvals.
Ensure the project communications are in line with key messages and overarching narrative.
Role Requirements:
Degree qualified or above in a relevant discipline
Minimum seven years of stakeholder relations, industry development experience
Good understanding of the renewable energy industry
An understanding of community dynamics and the ability to effectively work within community groups
Developed networks within community and businesses in the country
Good management skills with experience managing internal and external resources
Strong organisation and planning skills
Ability and willingness to work effectively independently and in a team environment
Able to maintain the respect and confidence of team members
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Ideally based in Metro Manila (where the Philippines Country Manager is located) – Flexibility to travel to development regions as required
